Tips For Managing Your Skincare Routine While Traveling

All the traveling during the holidays can put a damper on your skincare routine. It might seem like your skincare routine goes right out the window when you travel to visit family or friends, but you don’t have to compromise taking care of your skin throughout the holiday season. In this article, we will share a few of our favorite tips and best skincare products for traveling so you can maintain your skincare routine during the holidays.

Tip # 1: Optimize Your Toiletry Bag

Most of your favorite skincare lines are also available as travel-sized skincare products! This is good news for those of us who have those skincare brands we just can’t live without. Whenever you buy a new skincare product, also stock up on its travel-sized counterpart so you’re ready in advance for holiday travels.

Tip # 2: Face Wipes Are Key

Most of us have packed schedules while traveling, whether for work or pleasure. There’s so much to see and do that proper facial cleansing at the end of the day may fall by the wayside. That’s where portable facial wipes come in! They are a great way to remove the daily build-up from your skin while on the go.

Tip # 3: Don’t Forget the SPF

Depending on where you travel, the sun could be stronger than what you’re used to, based on factors like elevation and proximity to the equator. Make sure you pack a moisturizer or foundation blend with adequate SPF to apply each day.

Tip #4: Be Aware of the Climate

Take special note to check out the climate wherever you’re traveling ahead of time. Your skin may demand different care routines depending on where you travel. For instance, if you’re traveling to a drier climate, consider packing a thicker moisturizer. And if you plan to head to a big city to celebrate, consider adding an anti-pollution cleanser to the mix to remove particulate matter at the end of a day of exploration.

Tip # 5: Stay Hydrated

Between catching flights, family gatherings filled with libations and large meals, and exploring wherever you go, it can be more difficult to stay hydrated while you’re traveling during the holidays. Staying hydrated inside keeps your skin from looking dry and dull on the outside. One great way to remain hydrated while traveling is to bring a reusable water bottle with you wherever you go.

By planning and preparing ahead of time, you don’t have to sacrifice your skincare over the holidays. Instead, you can focus on enjoying spending time with friends and family during the holidays.
