Scar Gel vs. Scar Cream - Which Product is Right For My Scar?

Scar Gel vs. Scar Cream - Which Product is Right For My Scar?

We have a few different options when it comes to scar management products, including Scar Esthetique Scar Cream and RejuvaSil Silicone Scar Gel. So, what is the difference between a scar gel and a scar cream? Good question, we’re glad you asked!

Scar Esthetique Scar Cream

Scar Cream is good for light surgical scars on the body and hyper-pigmented scars. It can be used by itself or part of a regimen with silicone sheeting. Our scar cream’s most important ingredient is silicone, in addition to 23 other total ingredients. These ingredients are specifically designed to target the hyper-pigmentation of scars. Included in those 23 carefully selected ingredients are antioxidants, polypeptides and botanicals. Additionally, a massaging action also stimulates circulation to help remove excess collagen from the scar area.

RejuvaSil Silicone Scar Gel

Scar Gel is ideal for facial scars, and patients who aren’t great at remembering to use silicone sheeting correctly on a daily basis. Scar Gel is naturally hypoallergenic and since younger patients tend to have more sensitive skin, patients 12 and under find the gel a great option for them. Our scar gel also contains the highest concentration of silicone in our family of products, used to more dramatically reduce the height and size of a scar. Our Scar Gel also has the added benefits of Vitamin C, Squalane, and emu oil. Using Rejuvasil® means your product will dry more quickly. The formula goes on transparent and won’t flake or shed throughout the day. Added bonus? No weird scent here!

The great thing about both of these products is that it won’t hurt if they’re used interchangeably, in fact we have found that a regimen that encompasses all of our products yields the best results. However, it’s always good to know which product is intended for which purpose. The most important thing for both products is to use them as directed, because consistency in usage will drive the best results!
