Eczema Remedies: Using Skin Recovery Cream For Your Flare-Ups

Funnily enough, our Skin Recovery Cream was developed for radiation burn relief. However, over the years, our customers (and we) have discovered that this product is also incredibly beneficial for individuals with eczema. In this blog, we’re going to take a look at what we think should go into the best eczema cream, and why these ingredients work so well together.

We’ll also touch on how to calm an eczema flare-up and how to treat topical steroid withdrawal– all with a little help from Skin Recovery Cream!

What Causes Eczema Flare-Ups?

While eczema triggers will often vary amongst individuals, it’s pretty well-known that most scents and harsh chemicals can trigger bad reactions in individuals prone to eczema. Some foods, beverages, materials, and metals can also cause eczema to flare up. This condition has a tendency to flare up and hang around for a while, worsening if the individual doesn’t address the damage to their skin barrier.

What Ingredients Make Up The Best Eczema Cream?

Here at Rejuvaskin, we’ve formulated a special cream to help repair the skin barrier and protect it from further damage. During the process of developing our Skin Recovery Cream, we decided on the following ingredients for the following reasons. Take note of the fact that we do not include steroids in our product because we do not want our customers to struggle with Topical Steroid Withdrawal. Even the National Eczema Association has accepted our cream and it has been approved by the Good Face Project.

Aloe Vera

Aloe is a soothing, moisturizing ingredient that appears frequently in skincare products. It is an amazing, all-natural alternative to many other man-made moisturizers. We’ve also read research that suggests aloe can be beneficial in delaying adverse reactions during radiotherapy.

Calendula

Perhaps one of our favorite ingredients, calendula flower extract comes from the marigold flower! This little flower has some amazing benefits, including being anti-inflammatory. Marigold extract also can help to prevent irritation and rash in patients who are undergoing radiation.

Hyaluronic Acid

Many people will look at this and get concerned because of the name. You shouldn’t use acidic products on damaged skin, right? Luckily, hyaluronic acid is incredibly gentle on the skin and not even really a true “acid.” In reality, it’s just a chain of carbohydrates (it’s basically sugar!). Hyaluronic acid is a miracle compound that helps skin retain moisture. It can also help mitigate and reduce irritation in the skin.

Bamboo, Pea, & Glucosamine

Finally, we created our proprietary blend of these amazing botanicals: bamboo, pea, and glucosamine. When working together, these ingredients help boost collagen production in the skin – an incredibly important factor in healing skin. We include these ingredients in most of our products.

How To Calm An Eczema Flare-Up

You’ll hear many people say to avoid your triggers in the first place, but that won’t help you at the moment, of course. During an eczema flare-up, you want relief and you want it now!

Our recommendation is to find a non-steroidal cream that will support your skin and help it heal. Use your cream, keep your skin moisturized, and eliminate the source of irritation.

How To Treat Topical Steroid Withdrawal?

Do you know what Topical Steroid Withdrawal is? Perhaps you’ve struggled with this in your fight against eczema in the past. The best thing you can do for your body is to quit the steroids and support your skin while it recovers from constant steroid use. It won’t be fun, but your skin will thank you.

Finding The Best Eczema Cream For You

When we developed this product, we had radiation dermatitis in mind: this is a condition that is caused by extraneous damage to the skin’s layers due to radiotherapy (usually for cancer of some kind). In radiation dermatitis, finding botanicals and products that soothed the skin, moisturized it, and staved off inflammation without causing further damage or irritation was incredibly important.

To this end, we’ve selected botanicals like calendula, aloe, and hyaluronic acid. When selecting these ingredients for the Skin Recovery Cream, we also focused heavily on rebuilding the skin’s structural integrity. To this end, we use collagen precursors and elastin production-stimulating ingredients that are not steroids.
