Like most other surgeries, silicone-based scar products are a great option for healing breast procedure scarring. Whether you’re using our silicone scar sheets or our silicone gel (or a combination of both!) each product is designed to cover your healing breast procedure scar completely so that the silicone can create a moisture-retaining, occlusive barrier. This helps flatten your scars and prevent scars after surgery.

It’s always best to start using scar products as soon as your wound has fully closed— often this is just after your stitches have been removed. Your scar will be actively remodeling itself for up to two years, so it’s great to start early. For scars older than two years, we recommend our Scar Esthetique Silicone Scar Cream to help soften its appearance it reduce discoloration.

For the best results, we always recommend our Scar Heal Kit for healing breast procedure scars. This kit combines our Scar Fx silicone sheets for scars and our silicone gel for around the clock scar management. (Scar Fx can still help improve your scar on its own, however!)

Our silicone sheeting typically lasts at least 30-45 days with regular washing! (About once a week).

One of the things that makes our scar sheeting unique is that it’s reusable! Using 100% healthcare grade silicone, our sheeting is definitely on the thicker side, creating a more effective occlusive barrier to reduce water loss, and making the sheeting much more durable.

As a whole, it typically takes about 6-8 weeks to recover from a breast procedure surgery. In terms of healing scarring, you may start seeing results in as little as a few days or few weeks when using our silicone scar products, but generally, breast procedure scarring will take about 1-3 months to heal with silicone products.

Remember that scar management takes time. Luckily, our silicone sheeting is pretty durable, so we always recommend that you continue use until you see no further improvement.

Our sheeting comes in a variety of sizes! If you look below there is a chart with some pictures on the different shapes. Typically you want to make sure your sheeting is large enough to completely cover your scar, leaving about 1/4" around the incision.
