How It Works
Scar Fx creates an occlusive barrier to limit water loss through the skin. The reduction in TEWL helps prevent excess collagen build up. It's a completely non-invasive solution to minimize raised scarring such as keloids and hypertrophic scars.
Each sheet corresponds to a set of procedures to best target your scar. Scar Fx contours easily to the body and can be secured with hypoallergenic tape. Silicone Scar Sheeting helps prevent severe surgical scars.
Our self-adhering silicone sheets are made of 100% healthcare grade silicone. Silicone sheeting is recognized as the primary treatment option for post-surgical scarring by the International Advisory Panel on Scar Management.
Scar Fx is durable, clear, and self-adhering. Each sheet lasts between 30-45 days. They can be washed with a mild soap and water and reused.

Small Surgical Sites
Small surgical incisions, such as Mohs surgeries or Trocar sites.

Abdominal Procedures
Long surgical incisions around the waist as in tummy tucks.

Orthopedic Procedures
Knees, hips, elbows, and shoulders all result in scarring.

Keloid & Hypertrophic Scars
Soften and flatten raised scars whether from surgery or injury.

Burns & Traumatic Scars
It's not just surgical. Injuries can also cause significant scarring.
Scar Fx Silicone Sheeting FAQ's
Each sheet is designed to provide scar management for around 30-45 days. Proper care helps with the longevity of your silicone sheeting. Keep in mind the sheet is naturally adhesive, so it will get less sticky over time.
Definitely! We actually recommend it. Combining Scar Fx with RejuvaSil or Scar Esthetique can help maximize results. However, be sure that your skin is clean before applying the silicone sheet. You should never have lotions, gels, or creams underneath Scar Fx.
Yes, Scar Fx Silicone Sheeting is eligible for HSA exemptions since this scar product is classified by the FDA as a medical device.
With any HSA, it is important to keep both your receipt and any documentation in case your accountant requests proof. One strong piece of documentation is a note from your physician specifying the medical necessity. We have included a downloadable copy that your healthcare provider can sign here.
Health Savings Accounts and the eligible products allowed under the program are determined by the IRS. You can review their requirements by searching Publication 502.
You can clean your silicone scar sheet once or twice a week with a non-moisturizing, non-concentrated soap and water. The best method is to lather the soap in your hand and then rub the silicone sheet, gently removing any stuck-on debris.
Do not use hand soap as they often contain moisturizers.
First, make sure that you have removed both sides of the plastic backing from your sheet. The tacky side can be very difficult to remove. If you need additional sticking power, use the tape provided.
The best answer is to make sure you get a size or shape large enough to completely cover your scar and leave 1/4" around the area. You can refer to the sizing chart below to match some of the most common procedures for each silicone sheeting size.
