Why Your Moisturizer Should Include Antioxidants

Why Your Moisturizer Should Include Antioxidants

We’ve already sung the praises of antioxidants and explained what antioxidants are in a previous post, but now it’s time to dig deep and figure out why we think it’s one of the best moisturizer ingredients. In this post, we’re going to look at some antioxidant moisturizer benefits and answer “what do antioxidants do for your skin?” Let’s jump right in.

Can You Put Antioxidants into a Moisturizer?

Luckily, antioxidants are versatile ingredients that can be mixed easily into skincare products. There are both water-soluble and fat-soluble antioxidants, making them easy additions to both water-based and oil-based products. The difficulty with antioxidants is sealing them properly so that they don’t lose potency. You’ll find that most antioxidant-rich creams and moisturizers are in foil-lined tubes to help combat this degradation.

What Do Antioxidants Do for Your Skin?

As we discussed in What Are Antioxidants? (And Why Do They Matter?), antioxidants are important in keeping our skin protected from sources of oxidation. For example, oxidation is driven mainly by UV exposure. Exposure to pollution can also cause this to occur.

Why Do We Care About Oxidation?

Oxidation is a proven fast track for premature skin aging. Think lines, wrinkles, age spots, and other hyperpigmentation. Oxidative stress is one of the main ways our skin ages before it’s ready, and it’s largely unavoidable except with the use of sunscreen and avoidance of the great outdoors. Having a solution to stopping oxidation in its tracks is revolutionary in the skincare world.

Antioxidant Moisturizer Benefits

As we mentioned above, using antioxidants in your skincare routine can help protect from and remove reactive oxygen species from the skin. However, in order for this to be effective, we would need to use it every day. This is where a good moisturizer comes into play. As with any skincare routine, keeping the steps simple will make it easier to succeed – and remember to take care of your skin every day.

What Are the Best Moisturizer Ingredients?

Here at Rejuvaskin, we’re obviously partial to antioxidants in our moisturizing products. However, there are other ingredients that pair well with antioxidants to bring you the best outcome. For example, high-moisturizing ingredients that carry the antioxidants deep down into your skin, like our ReVita-D Complex (a blend of botanicals and superfood extracts).

We also love sunflower and avocado oil because they’re rich in vitamin E, fatty acids, and linoleic acid. These two ingredients will help your skin stay soft and moisturized. Plus, it’s non-comedogenic!

Rejuvaskin’s NEW Antioxidant Facial Moisturizer:

If you’re looking for a moisturizer that does it all, our new antioxidant facial moisturizer offers all of the deep-seated moisturizing power you love with a new spin on antioxidant replenishment for your skin. Using our new Rejuvaskin Facial Moisturizer With Revita-D will help protect your skin against oxidation from many sources.

Simply sub out your current moisturizer for this antioxidant moisturizer; it’s a worthy one-step product that will protect your skin for years to come.
