What Is Skin Cancer?
We’ve all heard of skin cancer— also known as the most common type of cancer.
More specifically, this condition is the uncontrolled growth of abnormal skin cells, often caused by DNA damage from ultraviolet (UV) radiation. It commonly appears on sun-exposed areas of the skin and includes types with varying degrees of severity and potential to spread.
Types Of Skin Cancer
SKIN CANCER PREVENTION TIPS

Limit time in the sun, especially between 10 a.m. & 4 p.m.

Reapply sunscreen (SPF 30+) every 2 hours

Avoid tanning beds

Perform regular skin checks, both on your own and with your dermatologist

Cover up with protective clothing, hats, sunglasses, etc.

Seek shade, especially during peak hours
