Healing Liposuction Scars

Liposuction is designed to help remove stubborn fat from key areas of the body. Our silicone scar products are designed to help remove stubborn scars after your procedure.

What Is Liposuction?

Liposuction is a popular cosmetic procedure that targets unwanted fat deposits that just won’t budge (even after diet and exercise regimens). This procedure can help achieve your desired body shape by sculpting specific areas like the thighs, stomach, back, and buttocks, offering a confidence boost alongside a more streamlined silhouette.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I need compression garments after liposuction?

Yes, wearing a compression garment is highly recommended after liposuction to reduce swelling, support healing, and help the skin conform to the new body contours. Typically, your surgeon will ask you to wear this for 4-6 weeks.

Can I use my silicone sheeting with my compression garments?

Yep— just not right away. Silicone scar products should be applied only after the incisions have fully closed, usually 2 to 4 weeks post-surgery, and can be used with compression garments if approved by your doctor. Always follow your surgeon’s advice regarding timing and use of both treatments.

What do liposuction scars look like?

Liposuction incisions tend to be fairly small, looking like a small bruise at the cannula entry site. Your surgeon will also likely aim for a more inconspicuous spot so that they are less noticeable.

Though lipo scars tend to fade over time (like any scar), this can vary depending on your skin type, healing process, and care after surgery. (Which is why we recommend silicone products for best results!)

What is liposuction recovery like?

Recovery after liposuction varies depending on the procedure, but most people can return to light activities within 1 to 2 weeks. While swelling and bruising are common for a few weeks, full results may take several months to appear, and strenuous exercise should be avoided for about 4 to 6 weeks.

When can I start using silicone on my scars?

You must wait until your wound is fully closed before starting use of your silicone scar products, when your wound has begun the “maturation phase” of scar healing. In short, this means your wound is no longer oozing, bleeding, scabbing, etc, which usually takes a few weeks. However if in doubt, we also suggest consulting your doctor to see if it’s time for scar treatment.

How long can I use Scar Fx Silicone Sheeting?

Each sheet is designed to provide scar management for around 30-45 days. Proper care helps with the longevity of your silicone sheeting. Keep in mind the sheet is naturally adhesive, so it will get less sticky over time.

Scar Fx Silicone Sheeting
& Scar Esthetique Scar Cream

We've been using the silicone sheets with also using the Scar Esthetique Scar Cream multiple times a day. It seems ot be working well with the scar cream.

I am seeing progress in the healing of the scar. It's much flatter and becoming less pink. The product said that it should be better with 75 days & it's only been like 21 days so far, so I'm pleased with the progress I am seeing in such a short time.

Scar Fx Silicone Sheeting

I am not one to write reviews….but I have to give a five star review for the silicone scar sheet. I had a nasty scar from a wound. I really thought nothing could help the appearance of this scar….I was using all sorts of topical scar remedies but nothing was helping. Within two weeks my scar is flatter and starting to lighten. Grateful for this product!!!!
