How our Scar Management System Works
The key to effective scar management is beginning as soon as possible. We recommend starting your efforts as soon as the area of concern is completely closed. Once your wound has closed you are ready to begin. Our system for scars combines silicone scar products to maximize results and make scar management as easy as possible.
Phase 1: Producing a Flat, Smooth Scar
The first phase of our scar management system is designed to even the scar with the surrounding skin. During this phase we recommend alternating between Scar Fx Silicone Sheeting and RejuvaSil Silicone Scar Gel. These two silicone products help form an occlusive layer over your scar to reduce water loss and limit collagen production. The result - a flat, smooth scar. For the best results, Scar Fx should be used at night or while you sleep. This will help ensure your silicone sheeting stays in place while you are less active at night, and you don’t have to worry about wearing it out during the day. Using RejuvaSil throughout the day allows you to discreetly maintain the ideal healing environment. RejuvaSil can also help relieve itchiness and discomfort associated with scarring.
Phase 2: Dealing with Discoloration
Once your scar is flat and smooth, Phase Two focuses on any remaining discoloration. Scar Esthetique Scar Cream with Silicone combines 23 ingredients that help reduce the appearance of your scar. Our unique formula targets discoloration at the cellular level to help even skin tone. To use Scar Esthetique, massage the cream in to your scar 3-4 times per day. Some of our patients see continued improvements through long-term use of Scar Esthetique. Phase Two can be continued for as long as you see improvements or until you are satisfied with your result.
Putting Together a Scar Management System
Our goal is to make scar management as easy as possible. So, we have taken this system and created the Scar Heal Kit that combines all the products you need in one box.
