HOW TO USE
Sunscreen should be the last step of your skincare routine (before makeup):
- Apply 2 finger-lengths of sunscreen for your face and neck.
- Massage into your your skin until completely blended.
- Reapply throughout the day every 2 hours.
Pro Tips:
- To avoid pilling, make sure your skin is properly moisturized before applying sunscreen (and make sure your other products have had time to fully absorb!)

How often should I reapply sunscreen? These are common questions we get. We suggest applying it during your morning skincare routine as your very last step before any makeup. You can start your day safeguarded by a high-quality sunscreen, while still experiencing the benefits of your normal routine.
Why facial sunscreen? Can I use it as a body sunscreen?
For our first, SPF we decided to focus on the money maker- the face.
The face is a key target for preventing premature aging and skin cancer, emphasizing the need for protection.
That's not to say you can't apply this SPF anywhere else. We simply call it facial sunscreen because we've made careful considerations to address particularly facial skin concerns.
Why use mineral sunscreen over chemical sunscreen?
That's an excellent question! We've actually written an entire blog about mineral vs. chemical sunscreen.
The short answer, however, is that mineral sunscreens are generally considered safer for you and the environment, preventing UV rays from seeping into any layer of your skin. Ask your dermatologist!
Why do zinc sunscreens pill or make other products pill?
While mineral sunscreen offers your skin great protection, they are a bit notorious for sometimes pilling. This is when your sunscreen (and/or other products) start to ball up or flake on your skin. In short, this means your sunscreen isn’t doing its job to protect you from the sun.
Thankfully, there are many ways to address this issue— ensure your products have time to fully absorb into your skin between each step, and then apply your sunscreen for a smooth finish.
You can also try simplifying your routine with less products, and make sure you’re routinely exfoliating! PS. We use non-nano zinc, too!
Do you offer any tinted sunscreens?
Not at the moment, but we are working on it! The good news is that our Mineral Facial Sunscreen is lightweight (It's all about grinding the zinc so that it spreads evenly and easily).

"It has an unusual scent right out of the tube, probably from the minerals, but it reminds me of a fresh washed raw potato skin. The scent goes away after your rub it in and it dries. It rubs into my skin well and is zero to mildly sticky, which you would expect from a sunscreen product. I have been using it during our heatwave on my arms, face and hands and my benefits are not having any red, sunburned skin. I was worried about using it on my face with all the sweating and lotion running into my eyes, so I did not put it on my forehead and wore a headband. Thank you for the sample!"
